Nutrition’s Role during Covid-19

May 11, 2020May 19, 20202 Comments

It's been the weirdest and most surreal two months of my life. In my enclosed box, I wonder every day how other people are doing in their own boxes.  I read horrific testimonies on the news of strangers' experiences with Covid, I hear the quiet anxiety in the voices of friends and family who do … Continue reading Nutrition’s Role during Covid-19

What About the Paleo Diet?

July 29, 2018August 9, 20185 Comments

I thought the Paleo diet sounded silly when it first came out. Why would someone willingly choose to eat only the foods available more than 2 million years ago? Loren Cordain, a professor in health sciences, was convincing enough in his 2002 book The Paleo Diet to make it the most popular google-searched diet of 2013. … Continue reading What About the Paleo Diet?

Why Food Waste Matters

April 22, 2017May 11, 20173 Comments

I've been working on some articles about food waste recently and it's quite eye-opening. The more I researched food waste, the more my deep-rooted habits began to change when dealing with all aspects of food: shopping, storage, cooking, and eating. I was in the dark about this before so I'm sure others may be too. … Continue reading Why Food Waste Matters

Still Afraid of Soy?

November 7, 2016August 3, 20175 Comments

It surprises me how many people are still afraid to eat soy, including some nutritionists. No doubt, reading random online information about soy can be scary and confusing. Who would eat a food that purportedly causes breast cancer, thyroid disorders and even brain damage? But this information is hype and largely unfounded. I've followed research on soy foods and … Continue reading Still Afraid of Soy?

An Update on Omega-6 Fats

July 31, 2016August 29, 2017Leave a comment

A new JAMA study published this month found that certain fats were protective from deaths related to heart disease. Which ones? Your first guess might be olive oil or omega-3s that are often praised in the media. Yes those fats were shining stars in this study, but the bigger winner was omega-6, specifically linoleic acid, a type … Continue reading An Update on Omega-6 Fats

How To Eat a More Plant-Based Diet

April 21, 2016June 26, 20214 Comments

I don't relate to people who say they loathe grocery shopping. In the right store at an ideal time without crowds of people, food shopping is like therapy. Bright lights, energizing colors, familiarity and ample choices make the experience more gratifying than clothes shopping…or at least close to it! I've always thought how great it … Continue reading How To Eat a More Plant-Based Diet

Surprised it was tasty. Baked tofu edamame black lentils kale cucumber tzatziki dressing👌 Most handsome best friends Rockwell & Cusco 🌈 Jake Class of 2025! 🥹🥰❤️🥳🧡🥲 not without struggle but you always pull ahead stronger. You are everything you need to be at this moment. You're my constant inspiration! On a noodle kick since Lunar New Year when I was celebrating with lo mein, chow fun, flat rice noodles etc..! 🍜 Easy: I just mix a stir-fry sauce with cooked noodles and add whatever's in the fridge. This has Gardein be'f tips, bok choy, sesame seeds and lots of green onion Really tired of storebought cookies that taste cheap, and wanted something without added sugar or artificial sweetener. Revisited these no-cook energy bites w stuff in my kitchen: PB, cashews, Fiber One cereal, oats, ground flaxseed, mini dark choc chips, and gifted dates I haven't used since Christmas. Also had out a beautiful jar of honey from my beekeeper friend @anaandmike🐝 but they didn't need extra sweetness today 🙂 Try these frozen! First time trying @lifealivecafe - wow so so good. Autumn Falafel and Green Goddess. I'm kinda bored with "healthy" vegan bowls that are so-so but these sauces and seasonings were seriously yummy 🤤 💯 Did you catch it? 😎 #eclipse2024 #bostoneclipse2024 #boston At least they’re being honest 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ahh-mazing Boston sunset last night pre-Lee caught by @sashbayat 🌅🧡💛❤️
